This Apple Isn’t Quite As Ripe

v1000S.jpgThe new line of PC cases from Lian Li Industrial look suspiciously inspired by the current line of Apple G5’s, don’t they? Note the inclusion of cutting edge floppy drive. Drop in a fast Intel or AMD processor or two, run PearPC, buy yourself a Apple keyboard, mouse, and a new Cinema Display, and you’ll have…...a very slow Macintosh. Well, to their credit, at least they’re nowhere as ugly as this or this PC case.

Pariah, I def agree that previous Apple hardware products have been much more elegant design solutions. But the G5 is much more polished and thought out than the LLI cases. Those are just yawn-inducing copies. I do think Apple should abandon this Terminator metal direction they've been taking lately. It ain't cool....its just downright cold.

These LLI cases aren't as ugly as G5s. They're close, but so far just shy of matching the recycled aluminum, industrial cheese-grater look Apple is hawking. Hard to believe the same design team that brought us the G4 Quicksilvers, the iMac lamp, and the Cube came up with the G5.
