Free Sampler Album from Apple

iTunes Music Sampler

Apple is offering a free iTunes New Music Sampler to iPod owners and users of the iTunes Music Store (an iTunes Music Store account is required).

Some people think that you have to restore your iPod to factory settings in order to get this sampler but you, gentle readers, need not go through the pain of erasing your iPod’s contents and resyncing.   This direct link to the album only requires one click, so what are you waiting for, go get it (this link will open iTunes).

The sampler currently features the following songs and artists from Universial Music:

  • Blow It Out - Features
  • All At Sea - Jamie Cullum
  • Sunshine to the Rain - Miri Ben-Ari
  • Lonely - Akon
  • Golden Touch - Razorlight
  • Every Time You Go Away - Brian McKnight
  • Bigtime - The Soundtrack of Our Lives
  • Laura - Scissor Sisters
  • She Said - Brie Larson
  • Jus Anotha Shorty - O’Ryan
  • Sleeping With the Lights On - Teitur
  • Reach Out, I’ll Be There - Michael McDonald
  • TKO - Le Tigre

I have downloaded the tracks, but I haven’t listened to them, so proceed at your own risk.

Any idea on how this was found--I'd be curious to watch for more in the future. (e.g., David, what RSS feed for the store are you using?)

My RSS feed for the store showed some similar samplers from other music labels a few weeks ago (I can't remember who they were). The compliations were similar in size but cost $0.49 or $0.99. They were quickly pulled before I could download them. Hopefully this means more will be on the way.

This looks like an iTMS USA exclusive. It doesn't work through the portuguese EU store just like the free single music download on tuesdays don't.

The direct link didn't appear to have survived the posting process... can you get that link online, since revamping my iPod would suck tonight?
