What would Bluetooth iPod do?

Griffin Bluetrip

You know, this stuff is starting to get cool. Given that the BlueTrip is a great idea, and if you have the $150 to plunk down for it, it rawks. But I’m imagining a host of other wireless iPod options emerging. I want to be able to do the following kinds of things:

  • Just buy the Bluetooth transmitter for the iPod at a much lower price, and sync it to my Powerbook instead of all of this dock nonsense.
  • Use said Bluetooth transmitter to broadcast tunes to my laptop, which is hooked into the stereo (i.e. cheapskates’ version of the BlueTrip)
  • Use said Bluetooth adapter to broadcast tunes from my iPod to my website via my imaginary Apple-Motorola iTunes phone. Mobile DIY radio!
  • Use said Bluetooth adapter in combination with the next-generation iPod, which is bound to include voice recording capabilities (it’s *time* already! sheesh!), to broadcast my own yammering to the web. Mobile podcasting!

What would you do with a Bluetooth iPod? Feel free to combine with other imaginary devices at will. :)

#4 said it best, and it is probably on of the more simple bluetooth things they could do, i would kill for a set of wireless headphones that are similar to the sony behind the neck ones so they can rest on your neck when you are not listening to them.

I'd love to see a set of Bluetooth stereo headphones working with a Bluetooth equipped iPod. Imagine exercising with your iPod and not getting tangled in the wires!

Wake up..! Apple is already working on the iPod Bluetooth (2.0). They have at least took a patent on this, not regarding any third party solution: http://members.home.nl/jacenijkamp/beelden_blog/wirelessipod.gif http://blogvanger.web-log.nl/log/1535318 So you may actually start dreaming about a real Apple AirPod ;-) [ Ger ]

I can see bluetooth being used on future iPods to transmit to other iPods within distance a "Currently Playing" list. Just to add another social aspect to it.
