Freeware February: WeatherPop
The weather is something that we are all interested in, and Glucose’s
WeatherPop 2 puts the current conditions and
temperature in your menubar. Simple, unobtrusive, and very useful; that’s how I like my freeware and that describes
WeatherPop 2 perfectly.
There is a paid version of the program that adds a drop down menu which includes the weather forecast for the next 5
days, and also displays the current conditions for additional locations. I use the free version myself, and I am never
caught without an umbrella in the rain, or wearing my bikini in a snowstorm. What more can I ask for?

Or for something completely free, try the open source Meteorologist at http://sourceforge.net/projects/heat-meteo
It's a notch down on the pretty icon factor, but it gives you the features for free that Weatherpop doesn't. Depends on your needs.

The problem with WeatherPop is the fact that they only support US cities. I use WeatherDock, it has all the cities in the world, (well at least quite a bit) and it's also free. Only bad thing, it's in the dock, not in the menu bar.

I have used Weatherpop for nearly two years, and I absolutely love it. It's by far the best weather program available. Simple and reliable.. always.

I used to use Meteorologist, but found it often did odd things to my menubar, caused strange errors in my concole logs or didn't play nicely with other menubar haxies. WeatherPop, in the other hand, looks better and never gives me any trouble. It's one of the first things I install on any new Mac. Excellent pick, Scott!
