Jef Raskin, Creator of the Macintosh died on Saturday

Raskin2Jef Raskin, the man often known as the creator of the Macintosh, died peacefully on Saturday February 26th reports DigiBarn, the computer museum.

Jef was always focused on the user and giving them the best possible computing experience. He thought that computers, both Mac and PC, as they stand now are way too complex and tend to get in the way more than they help.

His most recent venture was the Jef Raskin Center for Humane Interfaces, which seems to be very close to their first alpha release.

Jef, you’ll be missed and remembered.

Sad loss. And condolences to his family. While people obsess with Steve Jobs this and Steve Jobs that, people such as Jef Raskin is one of the main reasons the "Cult of Mac" exists to begin with. Without him--and Wozniak--we'd have little reason to care about Macs or Apple. Folks, he's the reason we don't have to CLI work anymore on a personal computer (unless you want to).
