The Presidential iPod
As we all know,
President Bush has an iPod. However, it doesn’t look
like he has, as I have always hoped, every song ever recorded by Bush
(iTMS link to
the band) loaded onto it. No mention of the Ride of the Valkyries either. Instead, he has a measely 250 songs, the
majority of them being country music purchased from the iTunes Music Store. The playlist on the iPod is kept up to date
for him by his personal aide, Blake Gottesman.
SOME FAKE JOURNALIST: “What do you do?”
GOTTESMAN: “I fill up the President’s iPod with Country music.”*
Don’t you just love to see our tax dollars at work?

If you are not "for us" OR "against us", What are you? Pick a side and get in the fight. I don't care which side, but surely you believe in something, eh?

It's funny that you say that with the assumption that anyone who disagrees with Bush is part of "the Left". That kind of "You're either with us or against us..." mentality is what really is trashing this country. As a Democrat, I wasn't happy when Bush was elected, but shrugged it off and decided to deal with it. When he went into Iraq, I did support him based on the evidence provided. Now in 2005, it's clear we were all duped. I'm no member of "the Left" as you call it, but member of America who is really sick and tired of the damage this clown and his personal agenda has wrought on this country. It's amazing how this guy took all of the sympathy the U.S. got after 9-11 and magically turned it around the way he did. He brought this country to war under false pretenses and has further damaged the U.S. role in the global arena. I did not march in any anti-War rallies before the war happened because I bought what this guy was saying. Knowing what we all know now, I can't believe this guy is not impeached.

I'm just saying that perhaps a tech blog is not the best forum for political discussions. That's my opinion, and freedom of speech goes both ways. Besides, this isn't even a political discussionit's a bunch of cheap potshots at Bush which add absolutely nothing of value and are part of the reason for the Left's increasing irrelevance.
April 11 2005 at 5:25 PM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyDonIncognito, in all honesty politics and Bush go hand in hand nowadays now more than ever. You can't say his name without inspiring heated passion one way or another. No doubt this clown has definitely made an impact on the world. And now we're all paying the price. But my comment was just to defend the good aspects of country music. And not automatically equating one with another.

April 11 2005 at 3:49 PM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyDear DonIncognito, Dude, are you serious about that comment? A blog is one of the ultimate sounding boards for Freedom of Speech. I don't think it is possible to go to ANY blog (tech or otherwise) without seeing/reading SOME replies that are not solely pertaining to the topic. Case in point, I misspelled the new Playstation Portable last week and it turned into a blogroll about hallucinoginics on a topic of mac and "PSP" integration. do'h! *note to self, next time make sure you say PSP and not PCP (Laurie, it stands for Primary Care Provider/Physician on the Blue Cross Medical App I am writing ;)
April 11 2005 at 3:44 PM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyWow, can we keep the politics out of a tech weblog? (I'm referring to the comments, not the post itself.)
April 11 2005 at 2:58 PM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyHe listens to country music so he doesn't have to listen to the country itself :)
April 11 2005 at 2:29 PM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyJack, I didn't say anything about country music being good or bad, nor did I mention my seething hatred for Bush.
