Now this is what you call an iHome!
According to MacNN, "Homebuilder Lennar’s new communities in Bressi Ranch will include the latest digital lifestyle technology from Apple. The new homes will feature Apple’s iBook G4 laptop computers, loaded with iLife ’05, Apple’s award-winning suite of digital lifestyle applications, featuring the latest versions of iPhoto, iMovie, iDVD, GarageBand and iTunes. Additionally, the homes are equipped with Apple’s Airport Express with AirTunes -- plus a three-year comprehensive support package. "
Although I had trouble locating additional information about it on the Brassi Ranch website or the Lennar website, someone is hosting a video to corroborate.

This is a very cool idea and I wouldn't be surprised if we start hearing about more of these kinds of Apple "partnerships" that immerse residents in the digital lifestyle and plant Apple firmly at the center of the digital hub market.

I'm a hard core, native New Yorker but these new Bressi Ranch homes would persuade even me to move to Carlsbad, CA - if I didn't already...

I have to go along with Victor if you've got a top of the line house you should really be running an Xserve for the whole house, seems a bit wheeny what they're giving.

I say lets see a proper set up 2x 12" iBooks 1x G5 iMac in the Living Room 1x Mac Mini and flush mounted screen in Kitchen 1x iPod photo 30Gb 2x iPod Mini 6Gb 1x iPod Shuffle Airport express connected to speakers in all bedrooms, bathroom, kitchen, living room iPod docks in the same places Then the kids are happy, dad is happy, mum is happy, everyone has ipods, music in every room, and wifi for all. Now THATS an iHome (and my current project ;) )

Imagine an XServe running your house! Seems like just dumping standard hardware on a homeowner is a bit silly... Why not use a mini (at least) and touchscreen for calendar/photo/phone/music/etc... Oh well! So is there a shantytown out there giving away eMachines with Windows ME?
