Silly Survey Sunday: Have you upgraded to Tiger?

tiger box with question markNow that the dust settled, how many of you have actually made the jump to Mac OS X 10.4 Tiger?

If you haven't upgraded yet, but you want to - what's the biggest thing that's holding you back?

Is it the handful of critical applications that still don't function properly (or at all) under the new OS?  Is it corporate policy?  Is it the expense? Are you still recovering from the Panther upgrade?

Or are you just not that into Tiger?

I just don't see the value in it. $199 AUD is pretty hefty. I'm just going to hang out 'till after the WWDC to see if a G5 PowerBook is launch and upgrade then (I'll get better value as I also get iLife '05 bundled). Else I'll get a iMac.

I have a copy sitting on my desk staring me in the face, but I've been so busy working on a project, I can't afford to take the time to do the whole clean install I want to do, not to mention any time it might take to fix any unexpected errors that might crop up. It sucks really, I had preordered well before I got into this project, and then the timing just couldn't have been worse. Next weekend hopefully!

I've been seconds from ordering it off of Amazon at least 5 times but I back out at the last minute everytime. The main thing making me want to update is Dashboard and I probably shouldn't plunk down $99+ just for that. The other big feature is Spotlight, but I'm a pretty organized person already (at least my computer self is) so I can't see myself needing that too often.

No upgrade for me. Too many incompatible programs (Quickbooks for example) I'll get it when the quad g5 comes out.

Got Tiger two weeks ago from ADC... I just have to wait for Digidesign to make their Pro Tools systems (tdm & LE) compatible with 10.4... arghhh!

Unfortunately I haven't been able to upgrade yet due to the cost. I don't think $129 is overpriced, it's just a little much for someone in my situation for something that isn't absolutely nessisary. I really want to upgrade though, and I'm sure I'll be doing it within a month or two.

Interesting. 50 comments and only 4 get stars. There were some informative comments made. Some helped me realize that I am right to wait before trying Tiger. The stars do not seem to be taken very seriously.
