Apple airs another commercial during Saturday Night Live
If Apple keeps this up, I might have to start TiVo'ing Saturday Night Live, which I haven't been able to tolerate for many years, just so I can scan through it looking for Apple commercials. This is the third week Apple has debuted a commercial during SNL. The first two were iPod ads and this weekend it was the iTunes Music StoreiPodLounge reports that the 30-second spot featured Coldplay (who also appeared on SNL that night) performing their new single "Speed of Sound" in order to promote the band’s new album, X&Y, on the iTunes Music Store - which I believe Scott is going to talk a little about later today :)
I haven't seen the ad yet. I suspect it will be available soon on Apple's website. Maybe it will be posted here?

Casey, that's cool, I hadn't heard about that. I'd like to see it. I'm a very recent mac switcher, and I'm quite pleased with the decision. Except for the mouse that comes with the system. But I'm in a tough spot -- I want the pretty, Mac mouse, but I also want two buttons and a track wheel. Oh, the decisions! I stayed in and watched my first episode of SNL in ages -- it had one funny sketch, the Robert Smigel cartoon. The rest was abyssmal. I thought the show had bounced back well in the Will Ferrel days, but it's so bad. Weekend Update is unfunny again. Was it just me, or did Coldplay not sound that good? I thought the guitar was slightly off, and that the backup vocals were mixed too high -- I could barely hear Chris Martin in the chorus of Speed of Sound. Or maybe I'm just fussy.

Think a resurgence of the Switch campaign, focusing more on people who bought an iPod and then bought a Mac. I can't wait to see them. http://www.macrumors.com/pages/2005/05/20050515222332.shtml

People know about the iPod, make some commercials showing people the computers and operating system. It's horrible marketing decisions like constantly plugging the overhyped iPod instead of computers that causes many PC users to still believe Macs can't open MS Word documents or use MS Office.
