Software update: DVD playback 4.6.1

dvdToday Apple released an update that enhances DVD playback. According to Apple, "DVD Playback Update 4.6.1 addresses a disc validation issue some users may encounter when attempting to play a disc for the first time with DVD Player 4.6. This update is recommended for all users of DVD Player 4.6."

This update is available via Software Update now.

Has everyone else's DVD Player been mysteriously upgraded to multi-region since the Tiger switch? Have Apple made any statement on what would appear to be a violation of whatever agreement the film & TV people created to impose the Region 'thing'. I think its great, the upgrade doesn't patch this does it!?
