Gap/iTunes promotion begins today?
Last month, we told you about an upcoming joint promotion between The Gap and Apple. Specifically, the Gap will reward shoppers for merely trying on a pair of their new jeans with a code for one free song from the iTunes Music Store. Well, it looks like the offer may begin today. The promotion page on the Gap's site says, "Download offer available beginning 8/8/05..." but offers no specifics on participating stores, etc. You can, however, watch one of the initial TV spots, directed by Francis Lawrence.Next time you're out by The Gap, pop your head in to see if this has started up.

Update: A number of you have confirmed that the promotion has indeed begun. In fact, reader Jose Izquierdo has posted some pictures from his local Gap, showing the store's signs as well as the giveaway card. Cool! Thanks, Jose!

Was at the mall today and noticed the sign in the window. Tried on a pair of overpriced jeans and got my free song!

Was at the mall yesterday (sunday the 7th) and noticed that my Gap was already advertising the deal. Huge store window signs.

i went last week and bought a pair of jeans and they were already started the new promo. this was in Puerto Rico. check out my moblog for pics of one of the signs and the "gift card"

Saw it here at Lennox Mall in Atlanta (same mall that has an Apple Store ;). Stopped in to buy a shirt, but didn't really think it was worth the trouble for one song. I buy pants based on the listed size, rather than trying them on. Yeah, I'm weird like that.

I was at a Gap today and I tried on a pair of jeans but I didn't really go through the trouble of asking them for a song coupon or whatever. I'm not sure why though since I'm pretty sure I only cared to try on the jeans because of all the cool-looking iTunes signs everywhere. I didn't really figure out how to get the credit but then I suppose I didn't really try.

Wow.. I was at the Gap on July 30 (woodlands opening) and I got my free jeans.
...maybe the Woodlands IS the future... :P
