PowerLogix announces 2.0GHz PowerForce G4 7447A upgrade

What if Apple decide to solder the CPU into the motherboard, I guess that can be bypassed by using an add-on card?

They will have to use the most powerful processors Intel has, or else users are bound to buy their own (for cheap) and plug them in! Of course, you might want to worry about power consumption and heat dissipation, especially if you have a Mini. However, after some time goes by, and we get faster processors with lower heat/power problems, it should be far, far easier for users to upgrade the CPUs in their Macs. This is the buried treasure in MacTel Land.

Does this mean they will be looking at doing the same sort of thing on Intel, can someone enlighten me.
