A tale of installing a Xserve

I want a Xserve so much it hurts. Sure, there's a little matter of having no real reason to buy one, and the fact that while they are priced very well, they are a little out of my budget at the moment (and they're loud!). However, all of this doesn't stop me from reading tales of setting up Xserves and lusting after one.
Maybe I can do a review of a Xserve for TUAW and then write it off on my taxes. Do we have any accountants in the house?

I would love to find a simple article that tell you about the different uses of a XServer.

I installed an XServe Cluser (I'm too lazy too look up the name, but it has one removable drive and no optical drive) in a cabinet and it took awhile today. The main part was just trying to figure out the exact mounting brackets and getting everything to fit. Once it was all in place, I slid it into place and damn - that thing looks nice! The software fumbling had to wait until Monday morning though...

I don't know about the US, but in the UK if you're self-employed as a tech writer you'd have no problem claiming an Xserve, although you'd have to do it over three years. You wouldn't even need to do the review, it falls easily enough within the sphere of your allowable deductions.

I'd just like to point out that you're deducting the tax you paid on the xserve, not the actual purchase. Saving 7% isn't that big of a deal, unfortunately.
