Apple's movie trailer page revamped
Apple's popular movie trailer page has had quite a facelift. Trailers are now categorized into HD, Exclusives, Newest and Current & Upcoming Films. In addition, top soundtracks, film related podcasts, weekend box office performance and upcoming releases are also listed. I like the look and the organization very much. Check it out.
While you're there, try out this trick that Reid sent in for downloading trailers to your Mac:
- Click the link to load them in Quicktime
- CMD+I [Window -> Get Movie Info]
- Copy Movie source URL
- Open Safari's Downloads window
- Paste
- It downloads!
- There is no step seven.

hi there...stumbled across this and thought i would add that the new king kong trailer is downloadable straight onto the ipod (a link straight from the page saves it in ipod format!)....just wish everyone did this cos as you said it would be awesome to watch trailers as some sort of podcast system
hope that helps

How long before we see 240x320 trailers for a certain new device - would be great if they you could subscribe to a video podcast of this weeks new releases.
I often watch trailers on my phone so this makes sense to me

exactly. i am surprised apple was not able to negotiate trailers for free download : not only does it sell ipod videos but it sells movies as well. watch a trailer enough times and you'll naturally want to see it no matter how much you think it sucks :p
well anyway, here's the clincher: quicktime7pro, save and download the 720p clips, and then "export to movie for ipod". bingo bango sorted and sweet.

I asked Apple about trailers on the iPod, and here's what they said.

NOTE:
The directions only work for movies that load in quicktime (e.g. the HD ones).
Sometimes you can find the movie file by using the Activity window in Safari or Page Info -> Media in Firefox, but they're mostly disguised now.
You might then have to in the source [View -> View Source (in Safari)] to find the URL of the movie.
Just look for an embed tag, then "src=[URL of movie]"
It usually includes the name of the movie and studio, and ends in .mov
Once you find it, just copy and paste the URL in to the Downloads window (or a browser window were you can save it).
NOTE: Some movies, for some reason, still don't work this way.
