Apple Store Thousand Oaks: Your reports
Earlier today, Apple opened its newest retail store in Thousand Oaks, California (because California is desperate for Apple Stores, don't you know). As usual, we asked any TUAW operatives who may have attended to share their reports and/or pictures. So, did you go, and if you did, how was it? Let us know in the comments. Here's hoping you scored a T-shirt.

i arrived at 4am, but the next person didn't show up until 5. It was weird because all the other openings I've been to, people showed up before 3am. I guess the rumors are true: Thousand Oaks is boring.
The second guy in line was really nice. He belonged to the first MUG, and contributed to the first Apple-related magazine. Lots of firsts, so I let him walk through the doors first. It meant more to him anyway.
I did score the tshirt, but I left my camera at home by accident. Basically, it was your usual opening. Lots of high fives, lots of people, nice looking store, friendly people in line. I have some pics that I took on my Treo, so maybe I'll post them on my .Mac account later.
Fishes,
narco.

I got there first at 9am, and there were only around 80+ people. But at 9:55am, there were about 400 or 500 people. The lines were HUGE!

I attended the grand opening. Showed up around 9.30am (the store opened at 10am) and the line was aleady snaking around the entire top level of the mall. Luckily, I was only about 200 people back.
Right before the store opened, all the Apple employees burst in from the main mall doors and started running up and down the length of the line, yelling, clapping and giving high-fives to everyone. I felt totally dirty.
The store opened at 10am on the dot, and I was amazed at how quickly the line moved forward. The store is surprisingly small, and I couldn't figure out how they could fit so many people inside - unless most of them were just grabbing the free t-shirt and hitting the road.
I got my tshirt (one size fits all XL...blech) and poked around the store for a while. Standard stuff as all the other Apple Stores. I was actually hoping to pick up an armband for my nano and they had two shelves full of them...except, they were all in crappy light blue.
All in all, I'm glad I went. Wasn't an amazing experience, but fun nonetheless.
Oh right, I took pictures:
