RadioShack to sell iPods, becomes Authorized Apple Reseller
Looks like RadioShack is no longer content just selling iPod accessories, they're going for the gold: after recently agreeing to become an Apple Authorized Reseller, RadioShack will soon begin to sell all flavors of iPods in its retail stores and through its direct ordering system, but not on its website for some odd reason. The many iPod accessories RadioShack stores already carry, however, will still be available through both retail outlets and their website.Retail stores will set up an iPod-branded section where customers can make comparisons and have access to the collection of accessories available to "enhance the overall functionality and enjoyment of the iPod lifestyle". There's no word on how soon customers will be able to snag an iPod from a RadioShack, but I'd imagine they're going to try and roll this out just in time for the holidays. After all, the iPod retail boxes have so drastically shrunk in size, you could easily fit two in a stocking this year!
On a side note: if RadioShack is now an Authorized Apple Reseller, doesn't that mean they can sell Macs too? Wouldn't that be the day! Where else could you hear: "Yea, I'll take those triple-AAA batteries, a remote controlled car and an iMac G5 with iSight."

you guys deleted my comments...looking back, I think it's a good move. Cause you also deleted that other guys comments. Anyways, Im glad Apple products will get more exposure into the mainstream. I hate it when I have a small gathering of individuals and we are talking about computers, and when I talk about Apple, OS X, or even the iPod, they say, 'What's that?"

Oh well Now I feel like the dude who has to explain the punchline to his jokes ending with "you had to be there to appreciate it" Anyway, yay for Apple. For rural Apple fans like me (Vermont resident) who will likely never see a local Apple Store and refuse to step in a Best Buy, Walmart franchise the Radio Shack stores are not a bad thing. Great move on Apple's part after all Radio Shack is the gadget kingdom.

Radio Shack has a statistic where one of their stores is within something like a 5-minute drive for over 90% of America, which makes getting your hands on an iPod a whole lot easier for some in more rural areas.
November 09 2005 at 8:48 AM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyWow....feelin a little rabid there aleks? I can almost see the saliva dripping from the corners of your mouth. It's a sad thing when people can't take a moment to laugh at themselves. How do you know that he doesn't really own a trailer, a beretta, etc. etc.? Granted cecil's comment was at worst politically incorrect and at best in poor taste but my guess is it was an attempt at humor and not a purposeful attack on any group of individuals. Have you ever seen Blue Collar Comedy? Your comments however are an attack and of the two I find your aggression a bit disturbing. In fact I can kind of picture you getting angry at someone at work...coming home, walking through the door and kicking your dog just to release some tension. Not a pretty picture at all. My advice, count to ten, breathe deeply, sing a happy song..do whatever it takes to calm down. Just please don't kick your dog when you get home afterall it's not scruffy's fault.

If they sell apples I would (though being 75% pc man myself) prefer that to the comps they have now, HPs or what not. http://highpowerrocketry.blogspot.com http://nybathrooms.blogspot.com
