TUAW Video Podcast: The iMac edition
As promised I give you the TUAW Video Podcast: The iMac edition, and only slightly later than I had planned (but we're all friends here, right?).I have the good fortune of owning a brand new iMac with built in iSight, so we thought it would be fun if I did a little tour of the machine and showed off Photo Booth to the three Mac users out there that haven't downloaded an illicit copy for their own machine.
This TUAW Video Podcast clocks in at 14.2 megs and runs exactly 4 minutes long [link]. As always, our podcasts are available via the iTunes Music Store here, or if you use a different program to keep tabs on such things you can subscribe directly to our feed:

Keep in mind that we are still kicking the tires on this format, and we want to hear from you. What do you like, what don't you like, and what would you like to see more of? Let us know in the comments.

Out of curiosity, which camera do you have sitting on your desk there? Looks nice, and i'm currently weighing up the different options before i go ahead and buy one for xmas.

Again out of curiosity, what program did you use to video/capture the 'on screen' footage of Photobooth?

Nice job Scott! I would have loved to hear about whether or not this iMac's fan is in the same place (behind on the top edge) and if it gets hot enough to wilt the innocent houseplant you have behind it.

Scott,
interesting videocast. But, you should buy yourself a tripod - so you don't have to release batteries one handed.... It will also help you compress the video more, without loss of quality, if you have a stable image (every time the camera moves, the compression has to work an awful lot harder), so you might be able to reduce the file size. If you don't want to spend much money, we usually recommend the Manfrotto MDeVe as a low end DV tripod - I believe it's called Bogen in the US and should cost about $300+ including a fluid head for panning and tilting - have a look at our buying guide for what to look for in a tripod (http://www.urbanfox.tv/articles/cameras/c34camera_accessories.html) for more details - we don't sell anything (but do camera training in the UK), so this isn't a commercial.

Oliver, that camera is a Casio Exilim, a Z750 to be exact. This is my second Exilim, and I love 'em.
Fabienne, they added another 'exhaust port' on the back of the monitor, in addition to the lower ones. It doesn't get that hot though, which is a good thing. The fans tend to be running all the time, but they are very quiet.
David, I'm cheap :)
