Bowie, Arcade Fire collaborate on iTunes fundraiser

bowieThe great David Bowie has collaborated on a live version of Arcade Fire's Wake Up, which the artists recorded at last month's Fashion Rocks event in New York City. Starting next Monday, the 14th, the track will be made available on iTunes for seven days, and all proceeds will go to hurricane Katrina relief efforts.

I'm unfamiliar with Arcade Fire, but as a Bowie fan I'll certainly check this out.

#12 You can only find this track in the UK store. I was also hoping they would make it available in the US Store... maybe they will soon.

First time I hear of Arcade Fire was when U2 played Wake Up as an into for their concert earlier this year in Cardiff. Looking forward to hearing Bowie with them.

Neighborhood #3 is what got me onto the Arcade Fire. So awesome. Great stuff. I'm looking forward to this release.

Arcade Fire is one of the best bands of the year easily and they have the indie rock community in a literal frenzy. They are amazing - listen to "Wake Up" "Rebellion (Lies)" and Neighboorhood #2 and #3.

I went to see the Arcade Fire last month in nyc. The played at Central Park a couple of days after the Fashion Rock's event. David Bowie came out to sing with the band for the encore and my friends and I went nuts! It was an awesome surprise appearance. I highly recommend that you check out The Arcade Fire if you haven't listened to them.

Arcade Fire has been a huge breath of fresh air. I love indie rock...wish I was back in Seattle or the NW for that matter!
