Two more CA Apple Stores this weekend

beverlyBecause, you know, California is desperate for Apple Stores (read: they've got 30, the most in the US). But, Cali is Steve's (and silicon valley's) home turf, so I guess I can let it go.

Apple Store Sherman Oaks will open at 14006 Riverside Dr., Space # 242B in the Westfield Fashion Square, on the second level near Bloomingdale's. Apple Store Beverly Center opens in LA at 8500 Beverly Boulevard, on the sixth floor, next to Macy's. As usual, the first 1000 visitors at each location will be rewarded with commemorative t-shirts. Visitors can also enter to win the “Grand Opening Sweepstakes,” which will award one winner with an iMac, an iPod nano, a Canon digital camera and camcorder and an Epson inkjet printer.

Both locations will open this Saturday, November 19th at 10:00 AM. If you're going to attend the either opening, please send us links to your photos and reports! Good luck and have fun...you lucky Californians.

Narco, I used to live in Sherman Oaks and judging by the throngs of people in the store, SO is not the vast wasteland you were told it was (as I'm sure you've never been to the valley). It's best anyway, we don't want any pretentious westsiders contaminating our beautiful valley. And now we have a happy little Apple store of our own to boot. Aside from narco's discrimination, the opening was great. No big lines and free t-shirts for all. Amazing how they seem to be able to cram all the stuff of a full Apple store into a mini store. One VERY interesting note: this store has one of the first CREATIVE booths. It's an extension of the Genius bars but specifically for the Pro Apps. The Creative chick said there were only 2 others at present with more to come.

np, narco. I mostly miss the beaches like Newport, H.B., CdM... not much in the way of that hear in Salt Lake. Hermosa and Manhattan are beaches that I've liked in L.A. Also Santa Monica has always been a fav when I visit. It's been years since I've been to the grove. I remember it being really nice.

Sorry ChillyWilly -- no beef with your city, mostly the women there! LA has the grove, century city, and the one I go to is Glendale since it's the closest to Los Feliz, where I live. But there are also a couple in the valley and scattered around the area. I'll be happy when one opens at Hollywood & Highland. Fishes, narco.

Orange County gross? oh man, narco... them's fighting words... ;-) I grew up there. Granted, that was many years ago, but it's always going to be home for me. Orange County only has 4 Apple stores now... with a 5th coming to Irvine Spectrum soon. How many does L.A. have now??? I will say the Beverly Center is quite nice.

Wow, I was just at the Beverly Center last weekend and saw the black store front, little did I know that it would be opening so soon. Interestingly enough, the Beverly Center also has a Sony Style store about 200 feet down from the new Apple location. Maybe there will be a clash between Sony faithfuls and Apple fanatics!

Well, I will definitely go to the Beverly Center one since that's a big deal, whereas nobody even lives in Sherman Oaks. It's like the Antarctica of California. I didn't even go to the Brea opening because there are just too many openings for me to even bother with. Plus Orange County is gross. Fishes, narco.
