Hack: Optical Mouse in a Classic Mac Mouse

adbmouseA friend of mine sent me this cute little hack: how to build a modern optical mouse into a classic ADB mouse's housing. Simply solder the button to the left button of a new mouse, route out the old mouse's shell to accomodate the electronics of the new mouse, and solder on a USB cable to the new mouse's board. I like the fact that they found a USB cable in the same beige color as the original mouse.

So bust out your soldering iron and get to work! Bonus points if you integrate a touch sensitive scroll "wheel" under the large button.

Tip of the Day

Holding the Command key (aka the Apple key) and pressing Tab will cycle through your open applications. It's easier to Cmd-Tab if you are Copy (Cmd-C) and Pasting (Cmd-V) to and from various applications.
