PHP iCalendar

iCal Sure, the site associated with it doesn't look like much, but PHP iCalendar looks to be a pretty groovy little tool. It's a PHP-based iCal viewer and parser that "displays iCal files in a nice logical, clean manner with day, week, month, and year navigation. It is available in 13 languages and includes support for printing, searching and RSS news feeds."

Check it out.

I've been using it for a long time for a website I run for a local county democratic committee. It is super handy to use ical to schedule all the county meetings, such as "third wednesday" indefinitely. Take a look at www.ccnydems.org

I have been using it for a while. Relatively easy to set up. THe UI is a little funky, sometimes being a bit painful. However the biggest shortcoming is not its fault: iCalendar SUCKS HAIRY ASS because it cannot 'sync' sensibly. So, although PHP iCal cannot do writes, it doesn't matter anyway 'cause iCalendar SUCKS HAIRY ASS. Apple, you listenin'?

I too have been using PHP iCal for a while now to share calendars between my wife and I (we have diff schedules so it's good to peek at her calendar of events). I need to look into the new version, however. Previously, I had been using free hosting services offered at iCal Exchange. The unfortunate part is that although it's simple for the non-techie to set up for remote hosting, the site owner has not updated his free site or installed the newest version of PHP iCal. It still runs on version 0.9. Here's a nice tutorial.
