Engadget CES iTunes Phone coverage

Engadget is over at CES today / this week, so make sure you check over there for some gadget goodness. They currently have a few posts on some gadgets that were once known as iPhones: the Motoroa SLVR with iTunes and the ROKR E2. Check out both posts for a slew of cool pics, and check back later with Engadget for more details on all these devices and more.

I, for one, don't like iPhones. Give me a Razr and an iPod and keep them away from each other so they don't cause interference, and I'm happy.

I don't want an iPhone for its own sake so much, but being able to manage what music I do have on my phone with iTunes (as I already have an iPod) would be far better than having to manage it separately. Maybe the capacity for iTunes to work with USB-drive type players would be more important than having iTunes on the phone?

Although at the moment, I use Podcatcher On A Stick to load it with content, so that's hardly that difficult.

Hey, Cyberwhore,

I have 7 stars because I gave them to myself, because I rule.

Just kidding.

Anyway, we've been updating the site, as you can see, and some things, like the comments / stars haven't made the transition to the fully polished versions to which you were previously accustomed. So soon, I will no longer have 7 stars but a STAFF notice next to my name and all of the peeps in the Contributor list should get their URLs corrected, etc.

Sorry for the inconvenience of seeing that I have more stars. ;-)

Pete,

I'm not so interested in the all-in-one uber gadget, just because with the notable exception of the Swiss Army Knife, every single all-in-one I've ever owned has serious shortcomings in several of those "all" areas. Jack of all trades and master of none syndrome.

Give me a really good product that does one or two things well (like the iPod) and I'll love it forever.

Hey C.K. where's your vision for the future??

Don't you WANT the perfectly functioned device that will play your media, wake you up on time, let you know when someone's calling and let you speak to them... maybe even video calls...

Don't give up the hope!

Although I think Windows Mobile devices are closer to this than the iPod / ROKR

It would be nice if Apple just made a phone. I would love to sync my phone with Address Book, Mail and iTunes. It's clear from the ROKR that Apple shouldn't count on Moto to do this right.

I agree the specs of the RAZR phones aren't that great and it is about the style. That's probably why you look around and everyone has one.
