Hands on: iPod /FM receiver

Dave might not be too excited about the new Apple iPod remote/FM receiver but after take a closer look at it, I am. The UI is great, and the best part is that if the radio station you are listening to broadcasts information about what song is playing that will show up on your iPod's screen.
We couldn't get a signal in Moscone, but the Apple rep assures me that this is the cause.
Almost makes me want to get a new iPod.

Well, I'm not sure I see the point inan FM radio on an iPod since stand alone radios are so cheap, plus radio sucks these days. Isn't there a KROQ in every major American city? Why do you think I carry around a 60gig iPod, anyway? If anything, they should have an AM radio attachment so you can check the traffic ASAP. Of course, I say that as a Los Angelino. :
And didn't Griffin or someone have a device like this for the 4g, only it actually allowed you to record songs off of the air?

Why can't Apple come out with controllers (like this or the regular remote) with SHORT cords??
I know, I know, there are various accessories that one can use to wrap all those wires but with my headphones' cord (which is just the right length, thank you) I just want a simple remote or FM/remote to plug them into.
