Apple has released Quicktime v7.0.4 via Software Update. Details are scarce and there is not yet a description page
listed in Apple's downloads section. From the Software Update panel:QuickTime 7.0.4 is an important release that delivers numerous bug fixes, support for iLife '06, and H.264 performance improvements. This update is highly recommended for all QuickTime 7 users.

Incredibly you have to purchase another pro license if you're a pro user and want to use 7.0.4's pro features.

dw, are you sure about that, or maybe you're just misreading the description?
In the past, it's been common for users to have to purchase a new license for an *upgrade* of Quicktime, like moving from Quicktime 6 to Quicktime 7. But this is an *update*, and those (to my knowledge) have never required a purchase of a new license code.

Looking at it again, it does actually seem as though current Quicktime 7 Pro users won't have to pay again to get pro functionality back, although I'm not 100% sure. Either way, the message on Software Update could be made a LOT clearer. It reads:
>>
Important Notice to QuickTime Pro Users
Installation of QuickTime 7 will disable the QuickTime Pro functionality in prior versions of QuickTime, such as QuickTime 5 or QuickTime 6. If you proceed with this installation, you must purchase a new QuickTime 7 Pro key to regain QuickTime Pro functionality. After installation, visit www.apple.com/quicktime to purchase a QuickTime 7 Pro key.

For Pete's sake, people! It's the same message as has been on *every* QT7 update, verbatim!

Sorry Mike, didn't realise I had to be so familiar with Software Updates before qualifying to post a point of view on here, and that no other reader would find this useful. I'll make sure I don't make the same mistake again, I certainly don't want to offend anyone with my unexcusable ignorance.
