Omnigroup releases free Intel updates

Hot on the heels of yesterday's announcements, The Omnigroup has released free universal binary updates for registered users of the majority of their applications, including OmniGraffle, OmniOutliner, OmniDiskSweeper, OmniObjectMeter and OmniDictionary. I also thought it was odd no one seemed to mention that Comic Life and OmniOutliner made it into the bundled software package on new iMac's and MacBooks.

I think that is a very nice touch and further demonstrates how much better the included software on a Mac is better than a Windows box.

You know, until about a week ago I'd been misreading that name so I thought the software was called OmniGiraffe.

Seriously.

(I still think my name is only marginally more silly than OmniGraffle. What the heck is a graffle?)

Good to see that some of the software houses are so quick off the mark...

my main question thouge is about what is the fastest mac utnt the Intel Mac towers start shipping (best guess folks? June? Sept? End of the year?)

Does any one who saw and got to play with the iMac Intel at the show (or perhaps brought on home from an Apple store yesterday) have sense on how it stacks up speed wise verses the fastest G5 Tower esp on things that are graphics and processor intensive like effects rendering in iMovie 06 in high def?

is it about the same or slower say 75% or faster for example 125% etc
