I have to third the DreamHost recommendation. I just switched to them myself.
On top of that, there's this promo code - PRFSU - that if you enter that when you sign up, you can get the $49.95 setup fee waived, so it's just $9.95 a month for 20GB of disk (that grows by 160MB a week, I might add) and 1TB of bandwidth (that also grows weekly, by 8GB).
What I love about DreamHost is that it's all really simple while still offering me shell access so I can geek out.
That's junk! Waaay too expensive, and for little reason!
I second the dreamhost, I just switched over to them -- macdock is ripping off newbie users here, it seems.
I second that plug for Dreamhost. Bluehost is also a good host (that's where my site is hosted) if you are looking for a little cheaper price. But Dreamhost offers Ruby on Rails and a host of other stuff that others just aren't offering (PHP5 anyone?). It seems to me that MacDock et al are charging more for the fact that the servers run on Macs. Not exactly worth it for my money, seeing as I never see the software running my sites. One host you should definitely stay away from though is Spymac. Man, that was a terrible experience. Just shop around and be smart.
