Chandler 0.6: The Experimentally Useable Calendar
The user interface is quite pleasant, even if still in the rudimentary phase of development. Calendaring functions include layered data, integration with chat and email, and much more. Check out the Chandler team'sphilosophy and while you're at it, an interview of Andy Hertzfeld at NerdTV (Episode 1 of NerdTV at the bottom of the page).

Looks pretty nice, actually. But 54 megs for a calendar app? What's up with that?

Not sure how iCal could give a headache. One of the simplest easiest to use apps I've used. I did try this one out, seems promising and maybe better than Sunbird. But for a Mac OS X user I can't imagine it'll be that fitting over something like iCal etc. that integrates nicely with the rest of the system, not to mention much faster.

What does Chandler have over iCal? Does it integrate with Mail or Thunderbird or iCal? I saw the demo and it looks a lot like iCal. Just wondering why it's better. :)

Holy crap! 178mb when installed! That's ridiculous and unnecessary, even for beta software.

It doesn't look to me as though this is intended to be an iCal-killer... It looks more like it's bringing iCal's approachability to the masses, as there are Windows and Linux versions. Perhaps the install size is due to the cross-platform porting?

After having read all that stuff, I must ask you what is the thing in iCal that you don't like and is been addressed by Chandler? You SHOULD mention it when you comapre, shouldn't you?
