Laura Bush listens to Dolly on her iPod
I'm not sure if this is positive press for Apple, but what the
heck. According to reporter Bill
Sammon of The Washington Times, first lady Laura Bush listens to Dolly Parton on her iPod. She apparently listens
to less country music than her
husband. Mrs. Bush allegedly has Tina Turner on her iPod in addition to the more expected choices. No mention was made to what model or models of iPod the First Lady rocks or in which settings she enjoys listening to her playlists.

Lady Laura seems to be a dame of impeccable taste.
Hence, her husband of choice - Bush - and DAP of choice - the iPod. :-)

Why do I imagine her husband trying to cram the iPod into a cassette player?

Wow. Big surprise, Lady Bush listens to country and Tina Turner. This might have been interesting if she was into the Sex Pistols or Jay-Z.
Apparently, everyone now owns an iPod since those dorks in the White HouseCheney includinghave one. Or could this be an attempt to appear cool as a kind of low-speed PR stunt.
Nah!

its amazing that someone in the white house was intelligent enough to explain what the ipod does, and how to operate it. find whoever that person is, and give him a promotion... to at least vice president.

Isn't it great how the caring, tolerant and enlightened left always has a kind word to say about everyone, even those with whom they disagree politically? Why, it fills my heart with joy and great hope for the future of our great nation when I read comments like those posted above. Hope for a future of understanding and cooperation to make this a better world.
You're all wonderful, beautiful people.

I am also consistently uplifted by the elevated tone the left takes in its spirited and loyal opposition to the President and his administration. I am truly learning how to be tolerant, enlightened, and civil from the American left.
I am certain that their focus on issues rather than personalities, substance rather than strife will surely lead them to massive electoral victories in '06 and '08.

I agree about those horrible "left wingers".
I personally am absolutely uplifted by the Administration's terrific handling of Afghanistan, their capture of Osama bin Laden (he's the guy from the 9/11 attacks, remember him?) and the cheap (and efficient) overthrow of Saddam Hussein and all the wonderful freedom that those in Iraq now feel.
Plus, the economy couldn't be better, the environment couldn't be cleaner and the rich couldn't be richer. I also appreciate our leader's tireless efforts in bringing stability to New Orleans, a more civil tone to Washington, his care and compassion towards foreign governments, and his dedication to education and the teaching of fact-based science.
I thank God he has been able to do all of this without corruption in his administration, spying on Americans, torturing innocents or incurring giant amounts of debt even our children's children won't be able to pay off.
Plus, I think Laura's iPod is absolutely ADORABLE!
I commend you, Mr. and Mrs. President!

1. The Administration's handling of Afghanistan has been terrific.
2. Osama bin Laden has not been captured, but he has been made irrelevant as a direct strategic threat.
3. Saddam Hussein's removal and all the wonderful freedoms that those in Iraq now experience is the greatest advance of freedom in the middle east since Israel's rebirth in 1948.
4. The economy couldn't be better - take a look at all the indicators.
5. The rich are richer, the poor are richer.
6. The administration's response to the New Orleans disaster was much more efficient than Clintons was to the hurricanes that struck Florida on his watch.
7. A more civil tone in Washington couldn't be accomplished with an act of Congress.
9. I don't expect any of the left-wing governments in western Europe, the communist governments in eastern Asia, or the Islamic governments of the middle east to ever agree with anything the President does or says.
10. The slams against ID in regards to its basis in fact is so horrendously ill-informed...I don't know where to start.
11. The precedent for wiretap 'spying' on Americans in league with the enemy was set by FDR, Jimmy Carter, and Clinton.
12. Funny that everyone is on this witch hunt for US torture, but the evidence is as ephemeral as Iraqi WMDs.
13. I'll grant you, the spending initiated by both parties in Washington is unacceptable.
Plus, I think Laura is absolutely ADORABLE!
I commend you, Mr. and Mrs. President!

I now commend YOU Mr. Bauer...
You managed to refute all of my comments without any proof or a single fact!
I wish all of us could live in YOUR sunny America. Unfortunately, I live in the one where my health insurance is almost non-existant, the President (regardless of past instances) is breaking the law, we're mired in a war that may cost our country over 1 TRILLION DOLLARS after we were told that the oil in Iraq would pretty much cover the costs.

Uh, you say things in Afghanistan are going well? Only if you are a drug dealer.

At least we don't have to worry about any other countries destroying our freedom... And if there was, we have plenty of troops for everybody, right?

But don't worry...the poor are getting richer... :)

Your comment on Bush's handling was "much more efficient" is ridiculous.
Clinton issued disaster declarations for North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia and Florida even BEFORE the hurricane's high winds and rains hit the states. No, Hurricane Floyd was no Katrina. But like Bush 43 in the case of Katrina, Clinton made disaster declarations even before the hurricane hit. Bush didn't declare a disaster for a couple of days (while he played guitar in California).
Carter, Clinton, etc. did not break the law using wiretaps. That is complete fiction.
Hope that clears some things up.

Why is that Right Wingers never seem to know when they are making fools of themselves?
Kudos to Mrs. Bush for having the good taste to obtain the best MP3 player in the world. It is too bad she didn't marry an honorable man, though.

"2. Osama bin Laden has not been captured, but he has been made irrelevant as a direct strategic threat."
That is until we again get attacked on our soil by Al Qaeda and we say, "Gee, Osama's still alive. Why didn't we figure this attack out by all that wire tapping?"
"4. The economy couldn't be better - take a look at all the indicators."
Yup, GM & Ford are so prosperous right now it's ridiculous! Even if the auto companies did have their acts together, they still would be at an incredible competitive disadvantage because their health care and pension costs are so high. Companies in countries with government assisted health care are wiping the walls with us, in all industrial sectors. No Apple computers are made in America. And if GM or Ford die, that's going to have a significant, long term effect on the economy, especially if GM goes away.
"5. The rich are richer, the poor are richer."
No I'm not!
"7. A more civil tone in Washington couldn't be accomplished with an act of Congress."
No but a lone corrupt Republican lobbyist, who just got busted, is working wonders!
"11. The precedent for wiretap 'spying' on Americans in league with the enemy was set by FDR, Jimmy Carter, and Clinton."
Yup, that makes it right!
"12. Funny that everyone is on this witch hunt for US torture, but the evidence is as ephemeral as Iraqi WMDs."
Are those pictures from Abu Grabe "short lived"? I think Lindsey England just recently, finally, got punished and sentenced. And you bet, I think Bush should take some responsibility for the real events that took place at that prison, since he is the Commander in Chief of our military. "Real tangible events" compared to the admitted false WMD intelligence we invaded a sovereign nation on. If Bush is going to use Artiicle II, Section II, Clause 1 as an excuse of the day for wire tapping, he should be responsible for the actions of the military he commands.

Anytime you want a bunch of lefties to turn your apolitical blog into a hate-fest then just include a pic of the Prez or his wife or his dog or anyone else who isn't politically inclined to the left of Ted Kennedy and sit back and watch the flood gates open for their spittle-flecked rage. Such nice people. These people go from zero to 100 at the sight of someone like LB.
I hasten to add that if the article was on, say, Bill Clinton and his iPod then as a rightie I would have been interested in reading about it, but I wouldn't have jumped down anyone's throat at the first opportunity to call him a criminal or treasonous or any of the other hateful stuff that is coming from the other side.
It was a nice try: posting an innocent article of interest about LB and her use of an Apple product, but you ended up with an all too predictable result from your extreme leftie readers. I can only suggest that next time you try this sort of article that you disable comments on it to avoid the unpleasantness.

yes... please disable the comments... we wouldn't want free discussion.
Plus, removal of free discussion is a small part of the Bush agenda. Thanks for reminding them comrade Mart! All is well and remember... 2+2=5!
