Apple lists available Universal applications
I'm sure you have all been to Apple's website with information about
Universal applications, but Apple recently added two new sections. The first lists several software developers like
Quark, Blizzard, and HP and quotes about how excited they
are about Intel Macs and creating Universal versions of their applications. Typical marketing stuff, but worth a
glance. The other, and most useful page, is a list of Universal applications that Apple is maintaining. This is a great resource for all you lucky Intel Mac owners.

359 apps listed in alphabetical order.
Is it too much to ask for a a way to jump to a letter rather then clicking "Next" a dozen times, or hopefully choosing the right category?
Well at least there is a search field.
Either way having such a list available is a great resource.

MacUpdate ( http://www.macupdate.com ) now shows a visual cue for Universal Binaries. Nice.

Versiontracker's list is much more helpful.

MacUpdate is cool, it shows the Universal Binary icon next to the program if it's a UB, but I've only seen it in the search results page ...

Now I can't wait for all those pro-apps to appear. Thanks for that great page :)

Apple's list doesn't have things like Handbrake (an app which is an excellent use for an idle iMac Core Duo when you also have a PowerMac next to it!).
Wonder if that is deliberate, or because it is not commercial?

Jeff - No, it cannont run on a pc running Windows. Per Apple's Universal webpage:
When you see the Universal symbol on Mac applications, that means theyre made to run on both Intel- and PowerPC-based Mac computers...Theyll automatically run at peak performance for your Macs architecture.
