MTV Show "Laguna Beach" now in the iTMS

Season One of MTV's Laguna Beach reality show has been added to the iTMS. This apparently is the first MTV show to appear on the iTunes Music Store, and perhaps hints at a larger partnership between Apple and MTV. You can find the show by doing a search in the TV category in the iTMS. There has been no official word from MTV about other shows that may be added in the near future.

Drop me a line when Pimp My Ride shows up in the iTMS. That's definitely worth the 1.99 an episode.

Update: Apparently there is new Comedy Central content on the iTMS as of today as well. This update includes South Park, Drawn Together, and Best of Comedy Central Stand-up. Rock! [thanks Ruben Santiago and Young!]

None of the music videos in the Beavis and Butthead episodes though... Bugger. That was the best part.

Wonder Showzen is there as well. Do yourself a favor and spend $1.99 to sample an episode of the funniest show on TV. Any episode will do, although I'm partial to the one where the letter "N" runs off to Slutland.

: )

In the Stand-Up comedy section of Comedy Central, Dave Attell, Patton Oswald, Lewis Black, and the late but great Mitch Hedberg's stand-up routines have been added. Sweet!

Looks like a big Viacom update. Shows from Comedy Central, MTV (not just Laguna Beach, also Jackass, Punk'd and old Beavis and Buttheads), Nickelodeon, and the N all added today. Plus The A-Team from NBC (season 1) . This is a long-awaited content update!

Although I hope they do add a subscription model for currently running shows at some point. Or cheaper eps with commercials, although I guess they couldn't guarantee advertisers that people wouldn't just fast-forward through them without breaking -- I mean updating -- iPod firmware and iTunes.

Quick calculation, if they eventually bring us "The Daily Show" and "The Colbert Report":
2 episodes * $1.99 per episode * 4 times per week * 46 weeks out of 52 in the year = $732.32 per year.
Eep...
