Shiira 1.2.1
Shiira
1.2.1 has been released. Shiira is now a Universal application so once you
get your hot little hands on a MacBook Pro you can run this favorite alternate web browser of ours. 1.2.1 also adds an
'autocomplete' function that stores your usernames and passwords in OS X's keychain for easy retrieval (plus it is
secure).Sure this isn't the blockbuster release that 1.2 was, but for a .0.1 release it isn't too shabby.
Update: We're getting a number of reports that 1.2.1 is a little 'buggy.' Specifically anything to do with auto complete causes the program to crash. Let us know in the comments if this is happening to you as well.

I downloaded 1.2.1 as my introduction to Shiira three days ago and like others I've had to trash it and use 1.2 because of crashes when I had to signin to protected web sites. I still had a lot of trouble getting 1.2 stable but it's working at the moment. This may be because I imported my Firefox bookmarks rather than Safari's (FF is my primary browser) and attempts to access Google and/or eBay using my imported bookmarks invariably caused a crash. I'm hoping this gets fixed soon because as you know Safari won't import Firefox bookmarks and I've got about a thousand of them by now.

I downloaded the 1.2 version just to be safe and I am very impressed...I love the fact that it imported all of my bookmarks from firefox and even displayed them like I would see it while using the fox. The only drawback is lack of plug in fun and more themes also the bookmarks are plain without the web icons and such but all in all a great browser I'll use this even once and while but until more options are available I'll keep using firefox

I experience crashes of 1.2.1 for one specific website only where slashdot is used: after surfing to it after a while (day) or after changing network, I loose my automatic login. Returning to that page then causes problems. If I don't log in, or interrupt the loading process (clicking STOP) the page loads just fine.
For the rest, I'm very glad they worked out the autocomplete thing - I was missing that in the previous versions. I think I'll shift from the Camino optimized builds towards Shiira rather permanently.
I downgraded back to 1.2 because I was having frequent crashes. Anything that involved usernames/passwords caused the browser to choke and crash. I had problems even after turning off autocomplete.
