Silly Sunday Survey: Intel Macs, buy now or wait?

A new Silly Sunday Survey is way overdue, so dear readers, we have one for your edification. Are you going to be buying (or have you already bought) one of the first generation Intel Macs (i.e. the MacBook Pro or the Duo Core iMacs)?

I tend to avoid first revs of any Apple products, especially since I ordered a Cube seconds after Steve announced them and did the same thing for the Titanium Powerbooks, but that's just me. Sound off in the comments!

Fist let me appologise for my spelling and typing. What I ment to say was that I will wait until the 1st of April (being Apple;s 30th), then I can decide weather to wait a bit more or to go for it. Once decided Ill got for a 20" iMac Duo. Sorry for any confusion.

I am getting the first rev, mostly because this will be my first mac. I have had it with windows. I _was_ going to buy a Dell XPS, then I heard about this laptop. I started thinking about trying out a mac.

Needless to say, since then I have actually had a chance to play around with a mac for 2 days and fell in love with it.

I totally can't wait for it, 19 more days until I get mine. I ordered late, so I have a ship date of Feb 24th.

Bought another new PowerBook late last year. Very happy with it and will wait for later revisions of the MBP before I switch.

I definately plan to get a 17" iMac 1.83GhZ. My dad has come into some compo money, and so I have a grand to play with. A 17" with 1Gb RAM and wireless keyboard and mouse will suit me nicely, thanks.

'twill be my first Mac, but not the last...

I will buy one as soon as I know that Final Cut will run natively - along with all the other apps I use

I'll wait until I can actually run dual-boot. Until then there's little advantage to the PPC Macs I already have.

I can't afford waiting for the rev 2 versions of this. I immidialtly jumped on and ordered the mBook pro top model, jazzed up hd and ram. (and licensed Adobe CS2! hah-hah to you!) I'm having very big troubles being a patient waiter though. I've waited about 2 years(!) for something more spicy then a G4 in the portables, and my boss has been urging me to get a new machine since last summer. I think I deserve a price or something. Oh wait, I am getting a price!

I'm writing this on my first Mac, a tiBook 800, which I use proffesionally, and at home, so it's pretty much running 24/7. I wonder how much the speed difference is gonna be ... :) Oh the joy!
