Flickr Find: Command Tattoo

I've seen some Mac tattoos in my day, but this might be the best. Flickr user boogah has a few pictures posted of his new tattoo, so check it out.

To get an instant map to any address, just go to your Address Book and right click on the address field of any one of your contacts and select "Map Of." The address will then be revealed in Google Maps on Safari. You can do the same if a data detector determines there is an address in an e-mail in Mail.

I think it's a fun idea but the tattoo seems way too large to me...! I pobably would have gone for half that size, especially on that part of the body -- sometimes less can be more...! ;)

This guy didn't do what I always do when I think something is ill conceived: I call a friend and ask him for his advice.

It's not -that- bad. Someone who doesn't know Macs will either think it's a lucky symbol (it is also the Saint Hannes Cross) or a tribal tattoo due to the heavy black lines.

I'm calling BS. Checked his site too and the bandage doesnt help either. Almost looks like a temporary tat. Almost little to no redness. Also seems that he likes to take pics all over the place with his sidekick....why not post pics of it getting done???

Oh no!
Will Apple go and sue him for using their keyboard symbol!??!
Ok, it's lacking the Apple, but still... I think it looks cool just the same:)

Hey, that's my tattoo! And yes Mark, it is real. If it lacks enough redness for you, I'm sorry. I've been taking extra special care of it - to the point where I'm taking vitamin supplements to help with the healing process.
Since I've seen a few people ask "Why?" in the places where this has been posted, I might as well give y'all the Reader's Digest answer...
Basically, I wanted an Apple tattoo without getting the fairly routine logo. For a while I considered getting the classic sad mac, but I'd seen it done before. Then one day I was staring at my keyboard when it sort of came to me. I've always been fond of the design of the command key glyph. I'm fully aware of its history [1] and I thought that if I'd had it done correctly, most people not in the know would merely mistake it for a tribal tattoo.
So I spent 6 months thinking long and hard about where I wanted it, how big it should be and if I could live with it for the rest of my life. Once I had the answer to all of those questions, getting it done was easy.
I can understand if you don't like it or think it's silly. But I'd like all of you to keep in mind that I didn't get this tattoo done so I could hear Joe One Button Mouse's opinion on it... I got it because it means something to me. It defines a time and place in my life that I'd like to be reminded of.
So say what you will... While compliments are appreciated, negative comments will be taken with a grain of salt. Cheers!

Nice tat. I knew it was real. I had my tattoo done on the underside of my arm, next to my pit and that is one of the most PAINFUL places to get it done! I can appreciate the fact that you took time to think it through, I did the same thing. I'm glad to know that you didn't get drunk one night and fall asleep and then your friends decided to be 'funny.' Although, it would be funny if you were a microsoft fanboy and it was done to you. But, thank the good Lord that you have come to the Light of the Apple!

Not to be picky, I love the tattoo, but shouldn't it be italicized? Seems like ever where I've seen it printed it's in italics.

I have the same tatto in almost the exact same spot. My lines aren't nearly as thick as yours, and from my experince on getting tattoos on the wrist area( I have a tat on both) Mine was not in the least bit painful.
And ive had that tat for some time now. (it was my first ive ever gotten)

Its a friggin' computer, you bloke. Why not just tatoo the Apple logo on your forehead? or perhaps this:
