Apple employee blogs commute

Have you ever wondered what it is like to commute to Apple's campus at Cupertino? Neither have I. However, that hasn't stopped Andrew Lin from vlogging his morning commute to the Mothership.

The videos are all in QuickTime (what else?) and they are sped up by 30, so you need not experience the commute in realtime.

Distance: About 45 miles
Avg Time: 40 min.
Avg Speed: 65-90 mph.

That does not compute. No way is his average speed ever as high as 90 mph.

He doesn't say that his average speed is 90 miles an hour. He say his average top speed is 65-90 miles an hour. Big difference there...

He lives at same exit as my job. I can't imagine commuting from SF to Cupertino everyday, but at least he gets to take 280 which is arguably the nicest highway.

Cool idea. I've thought about doing this on a trip.

But, what's with the hurry? And how long till he gets ticketed on camera during his commute by driving like this?

As this video does give the impression of continuously being the fastest driven car on the highway. I'm not saying it's agressive driving (there are more factors then just driving fast), but he sure seems to zip right along everybody on whichever lane suits best.

Hmmm, I guess maybe have a look at one vid. not mutch interest in this after that. Now a video tour of the campus, labs and buildings would be worth the download.

Does he capture with the camera at 30X or does he process after on his Mac?
What is the easiest way to do this with the same or better quality Mr. Lin achieves?
Thanks for any assistance.

Ha! I did this, like, *years* ago with my QuickCam and ThinkPad! That said, his vids look much nicer than mine. :-) Also, I miss living in the bay area. *sniff*
