iTunes 6.0.3: "the digital signature for this package is incorrect?"

I'm no software expert, but if you receive an error similar to the one I have pictured here when trying to install the iTunes 6.0.3 update that Dave Caolo just mentioned, I wouldn't recommend following through. I have no idea what this could mean or what could have caused it, but I think this is one time I'm going to shelve the early adopter in me. We'll post more details ASAP.

I can no longer repair permissions!!!
Disk Utility hangs.
When repairing permissions using OnyX, there is an error message regarding why permissions can't be repaired and it has everything to do with 6.0.3.

Not pleased.

Try just download Only option in Software Update. This just downloads the .pkg file. Sometimes just installing will have errors.

Disable Internet Sharing (System Pref). It's a bug of NAT implementation in Tiger...

This has started happening to me recently on other updates. I started downloading the updates separately from the Apple site and things went OK. It does not happen consistently either. Strange????

THIS HAS HAPPENED TO ME BEFORE

Search the www.macosxhints.com forums for more detail. The way to fix it is download each update oneat a time. I never got a straight answer on why this happens, or why one at a time fixes it, but it is a temporary solution.

For the record, when it happened to me it was on an iPod Updater (2 ago) Same dialog box.

Mine all went off without a hitch. It even looks like the iMovie update was posted while I was updating the others. It wasn't there on the initial updates then appeared after. Or was that by design?

I updated through System Update and now iTunes has lost my iTunes library. I'm not talking about the data file but all of my mp3 files. No wonder I suddenly have 20Gb of free space available.

Everythings gone!
