The BBC adds a slew of new podcasts

The BBC is about to seriously boost their podcast offerings. By the end of the month, more than thirty shows will be made available as podcasts from the BBC, including:

Woman's Hour
Start the Week
Broadcasting House
Today in Parliament
Front Row

Fire up your iPods, UK!* Time to start downloading.

Update: In the name of international relations, I have edited this sentence to read "Fire up your iPods, UK!" instead of "Fire up your iPods, England!" I guess I should have paid attention during geography class, eh?

I used the expression "Britain in the context of the BBC" and added "ie the UK" in brackets at the end of the sentence intentionally, in the hope that no-one could then send an email saying that NI is not part of Great Britain. Obviously I was too subtle. (and no, I'm not from NI).

Anyway :) I'm off to DC from NY tomorrow by train. It's taken me more than an hour today to transfer the first series of Gervais's XFM radio programmes to mp3s. The more stations that make podcasts available the better! Looking forward to listening to more BBC programmes on my iPod. Nothing else like it in the world. Radio for grown ups. (unlike Gervais...!)

Getting away from the point here but technically Great Britain only includes England, Scotland and Wales. Nother Ireland is part of the UK but not of GB. In full the UK is the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. All irreleveant in any case since anyone in the world can download the BBC podcast - I only hope some of Radio 4's comedy output is included...

Oh, it's the EBC now and not the BBC?

Yours,

Touchy non-English Brit.

PS - Dave, "Britain" (in the context of the ~"BBC") is made up of England, Scotland, Wales and N. Ireland. (ie the UK).

PPS - And don't even think of referring to HM the Queen as the Queen of England unless you want the rest of us Brits not from England to come and have you thrown in the Tower of London.... :)
