Mac Geekery on OS X Security Basics
I know
that many people who read this site think that security is something that only Windows users have to worry about. Well,
I hope that the events of the last few days have changed your mind, and
made those people realize that while OS X hasn't been targeted in the past that means nothing for the future.Mac Geekery has a great post that details some OS X security basics that all OS X users should read. Check it out, and implement at least some of the things the article suggests. You'll thank me later (or mock me in the comments now).

All those tips and more are all available in a handy white paper by corsaire:

They have security white papers for both Panther and Tiger.
"I know that many people who read this site think that security is something that only Windows users have to worry about."
The comments to a previously posted TUAW article seem to contradict that statement.
Many of those comments agree with the need for Mac OS X users to implement basic security practices but disagree with the recommendation that anti-viral software is currently a necessary (and/or desirable) part of Mac OS X security.
The Mac Geekery article on "Basic Mac OS X Security" does not recommend using anti-viral software either. Some time ago I posted a similar, though less detailed article on my website

Thanks for the tips. I took away admin privileges from the main user. That sounded like an easy fix that was smart to do. :)
