MacBreak covers the Apple announcement

MacBreak, Leo Laporte's (and friends) Mac video podcast was on the scene for the 'fun announcement' and they shot some video [iTMS link]. When I first saw this pop up in iTunes I thought they were just going to broadcast the Stevenote, but I was wrong. Leo interviews some Apple folks about the new Mac mini and the iPod Hi-Fi and sits down with Macworld Editor in Chief Jason Snell (pictured to the right bringing the pain to Leo) about Apple's entrance into the living room.

It is 20 minutes well spent.

Leo really opened my eyes to the POINT of the Mac mini, it was this aha moment for me... wow.. streaming any media from any computer in the house, to play on a 'slave' client. Brilliant...

Let's see what Dvorak says, cuz that's exactly what he said was 'too far out' (streaming video ala AirPort Express)

I thought it was a good episode. The Mac mini demo answered questions about how Front Row w/ Bonjour works. Leo came off as a good reporter, asking relevant questions about both the mini and Hi-Fi. Alex Lindsay, well, he came off as an obsessed Mac fanboy but hey, it's a Mac vidcast so no big deal. Oh and also, Leo was incredulous at who would pay $100 for a leather case.

Finally! It was really slow downloading when it first came out, and then it died. I guess they fixed their server or the file.
