Steve Jobs' greatest quotes

It seems like the whole Mac community is in a contemplative mood as Apple approaches its 30th birthday. In fact, Wired has posted an article that lists some of their all-time favorite Steve Jobs quotes, sorted into categories. My favorite from among Wired's selections is:

"If I were running Apple, I would milk the Macintosh for all it's worth -- and get busy on the next great thing. The PC wars are over. Done. Microsoft won a long time ago." -- Fortune, Feb. 19, 1996

It's a fun quote to read when you consider what an earth-shattering success the iPod and iTunes have been. So, TUAWers, do you have a favorite? I've always been fond of, "It's better to be a pirate than join the Navy."

my all time favourite, which is not mentioned on the wired post, has to be
"I wish him [Bill Gates] the best, I really do. I just think he and Microsft are a bit narrow. He'd be a broader guy if he had dropped acid once or gone off to and ashram when he was younger" -Steve Jobs (1997)

Some of the quotes are good, but not all.

That first quote in the article is by michael dell, not steve jobs. Steve NEVER said the PC wars were over.

Great article and wonderful SJ quotes. The writer of the article, Owen Ink, wrote the book Apple Confidential 2.0, which I highly recommend to big Apple fans.

My pick, which #6 said as well:

"Great artists ship"

I think I heard that from the movie Pirates of Silicon Valley. You can talk all you want about what you want to do, or are working on, but you got to get it done, and get it out there in the world. Anything else is a loss.

(Said at a Newton re-assimulation meeting.)
