Apple tech support chat live
Jan wrote about this the
other day, but it looks like Apple has made tech support via chat live
for the whole Mac community. Simply sign in with your Apple ID, and you are presented with a list of products
Apple knows you have (you do register your Apple products, right?), a list of possible issues, and a box into which you
have to provide the serial number of said product. After filling out the form you are whisked away to a chat with an Apple representative. Neat.
Thanks, hongkongtechkid.
Update: It looks like, at the moment, they are only supporting iMacs and iPods. Since I have an iMac and an iPod (both registered with Apple) I was under the mistaken impression that the website had magically populated the list for me. Nope, those are just the two products they are supporting via chat for the moment.

I have a question about my 4gb ipod mini. I just recently shipped my ipod to Apple due to a software problem with my ipod. After 14 days, i recived my ipod to noticed that it wouldnt charge. When i plug the charger both wall/usb to my ipod i hear small little clicks which are later followed by the ipods blacklight blinking repeatedly. Im stompt, I took it back to Apple recving nothing more than a letter which states that i pay for a $124.98 repair coast alomost the same price of a new ipod. If any one has any advice i will be VERY VERY GREATFULL, thank you.

March 30 2006 at 11:33 AM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyYeah it looks like it is still only for the iPod and iMac. Has anyone else gotten it to work with any other product?
March 30 2006 at 11:12 AM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyWell, at least I have a shuffle, however no iMac neither. Seems to be kind of beta or something... Maybe they detected that I would ask a silly questions just to test this ;-)
March 30 2006 at 11:11 AM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyI've tried this out in the UK and the site says that at the moment they are only supporting chat sessions in relation to the iPod shuffle and the iMac. I don't own either of those - oh well.
