Rig of the Day: Cube

Are Cubes "vintage" yet? We're not sure, but we do like them. Flickr user techcast-oni posts a shot of his well-maintained Cube and 15" Apple Cinema Display. I've got to get one of those eventually.

Untitled posted by techcast-oni.

For the month of April, the theme for our Rig of the Day will be "Vintage Macs" in honor of Apple's anniversary. If you'd like to see your own rig featured here, simply upload photos into our group Flickr pool. Let's see your vintage Macs (Apples and Newtons, too)! We'll select an image every day to highlight.

my brother has one that is substantially upgraded with a faster processor, more ram and a bigger hard drive. still pretty sweet and definitely faster than my sister's mini with a whopping 256MB of ram and 1.25MHz. i hate that computer.

That's one beautiful computer...

Andy, there are a bunch of Cube cases going for $40 to $50 on eBay, maybe you should give it and shot tell us how it goes ;)

Yeah really.... apple...are you listening???? Re-issue the Newton and CUBE!!!! Maybe the newton could mix with the iPod and be called iNod, or nPod, or how about the Podton? Ok, I'll stop. But yeah, the cube was kick ass and I cant believe it wasnt more popular among the casual user.

I've always loved the Cube design. I even wish they would reintroduce it w/ updated internals.
