MultiAlarm for Powerbook/iBook
You may
remember iAlertU, the "theft alarm" that you can
configure to go off when your MacBook Pro is moved (by unauthorized hands, that is), by making use of the Mac's motion
detector. It's a pretty nice idea, but it leaves Powerbook users out in the cold. Enter MultiAlarm. It works in a similar way, but isn't limited to the MacBook Pro. The developer has promised some Salling Clicker scripts for it as well, so you can arm/disarm your Mac from your phone, Palm device, etc.
For some reason, the thought of a Starbucks full of wailing Apple laptops makes me happy.

It is great to see people are using this program and are loving it, the voice was removed because it would lag the disarm, you can enable it again if you modify the source code.
The screen closing bug will be removed when i get a work around for it
is there a way to get this to work on pbs without motion sensor? with testing of hdd speed or something?

I did this and it works brilliantly - the alarm only stays going until it's put down and the volume keys don't seem to work. I haven't tried closing the lid but the website implied that would turn it off - they need to address this!

Combined with an inexpensive Kensington-style lock wrapped around two chair legs and attached behind the power adapter, the two provide what I deem enough security to run to the restroom or even down the strip mall for a quick bite at the taco shop.
Of course, being a regular there and having all the baristas know who you are is a big plus, too.
The previous version of MultiAlarm actually used the text-to-speech engine to say "Help! Someone is stealing me!" in addition to the annoying car alarm sound, but that was just too funny for most users evidently as it's been removed.
