Intel Macs are so yesterday. I'm all about the "PowerPC G6 Macintosh," and it's only $499 to boot!Engadget found a company (who might have already been threatened/litigated out of existence by the time you read this) by the name of Red PC who is selling a computer they call the "PowerPC G6 Macintosh." But wait - in addition to getting a supposedly next-gen PPC cloned Mac - there's more! Included in their Apple-defying price of $499 (along with this gorgeous case) is a hacked version of Mac OS X (it's reportedly a Pentium-based machine), Microsoft Office 2004 and - drumroll please - Photoshop CS2!
Nothing says "I'm feeling suicidal" like stepping on the toes of three of the largest players in the computer and software industries.

On top of that, All that is shown is a picture of the apparent machine. The same picture is used for some of their other "products". These guys must be trying to go to prison or something. These kinds of hit and run operations are bad for the market. I personally know people that have been charged for selling modded Xbox's. Imagine the penalty for this. The software alone counts for grand theft, not to mention the modding and copyright infringement.

Four, actually, since I doubt IBM would take kindly to having their PowerPC trade name associated with a non PowerPC powered computer.

I'm pretty sure that you meant "litigated" out of existence. Our legislatures don't work that fast, and in any case, since this was already very illegal, no new legislation would have been required.

Eric:
Ebay is run by a 40+ year old female. It was started by Pierre Omidyar.40 year old female (she's been important part of some big companies befor ebay)was brought in early though to give them credibility. She almost didn't take the job because they were "too small". Go figure.
