iTunes 6.0.5 "available soon"
According to Apple, iTunes 6.0.5 will be "...available soon" (check the lower right hand corner of that page). It looks like the main feature will be the new Nike section, which will feature "...Nike-generated content," including music and specifically timed workout mixes, as well as video and audio podcasts with top athletes.Apple seems to be going all-out with the Nike collaboration. I suspect we'll see TV ads in the next month or so.
Thanks, Ruben!

*deep breath*
Nike can go f#*k themselves.
What next Apple? KKK generated content on itunes?
Sheesh!
Apple can in no way, at all, possibly, ever, use the word "Cool" in association with any of their products ever again.
*and relax*
I am very excited about this, I already use my ipod nano when running and I already upload the info from each run to my iweb blog as a kind of online diary so this product would be absolutly brilliant for me as long as it works as advertised (no reason why it shouldnt)
just hope it comes out in the uk, looks like it is going to be june 13th /14th when it is released :)
So, the day after SanDisk launches a sheep designed by LiteBright® ... Apple manages to get some obscure Oregon comapny to team up with them on marketing ... as if either needed the help ... this is sort of like the day Sony announced the monochrome bean and later that day, Apple announced the color Nano that was about $10 less than the Sony and 2 more GB's of memory ...
Kind of like an F-18 versus a biplane - humm, wonder who will win this dogfight?
I wonder if it comes with GPS. 'Cause then the coordinates could be logged to the iPod. That'd be cool.
you can see a commercial already up at nike, maybe it is just an online commercial, because it is pretty long. Basically it shows all the features as a guy runs with his nano. It says to him how long he has, plays his "power song", and downloads info on his run to his mac when he gets home.

do you think there might be an event that day that announced the new iTunes, and new iPods??
there will be SOMETHING June 14th, just dont know what it is yet.
You know, I just got done hating on Nike (above), but I have to say that I visited the site, and this Nike + iPod thing looks pretty cool.
What I don't like is when Nike starts making bats, watches, glasses, golf balls, Nike branded ear buds, suggesting music to me, etc.
However, I think this shoe/Nano thing could really be a great combo. Has the potential to be invaluable to runners.
I apologize...sort of.
Is it just me, or is everyone else REALLY tired of Nike, ESPN, MTV, etc, trying to "grow their brand"?
Here's how it should work -
ESPN: Report sports
Nike: Make Shoes
MTV: Show some Frackin' MUSIC!!!
Those are your jobs. Could you try to do those at least adequately first?
Wow, they're releasing an iTunes update with the explicit purpose of shoving it full ads for a goddamned shoe company. I can't wait to download that.

Hey Apple, why did it have to be Nike?
