Mockup of tagging in OS X

As WWDC draws near Mac geeks' thoughts turn to what new features will greet the Faithful in Leopard. Now, Mac users don't just stop at thinking about what they want to see, they create mockups. Matt Jalbert would like to see tagging implemented in the Finder and has created the mockup to the right. He would like to see tags auto-generated by the Finder and Spotlight integration (i.e. when you click on the tag 'bridge' it does  a search of all other files tagged in the same way).

Some people are already taking advantage of Spotlight to create tagging functionality, but it would be nice to see in the OS (if you're into tagging that is).

@ Dan / SubGenius,

I hear you guys!!
10.4 was a nice update, but still left some gapping holes!!
Let's hope Leopard 10.5 Server really steps it up a notch of 5.
A great example would be iCal, allowing (out the box) users to subscribe / share / update calendars - nicely integrated with webmail (**NOT** something that looks like Squirrelmail).
Another would be virtual mail, allowing us to add email users, without having to create a pointless user account on the system. Sure these things can be hacked, but I expect more from Apple, and the premium I pay on my XServes / OS!

Anyway, details are extremely thin, .... but lets keep our fingers crossed!

I'd love some better tagging support for my image collection. Spotlight is love.

KeywordAssistant does a great job of making up for the deficiencies in iPhoto's keywords

I'd like to have an easier way to add keywords to images directly within the finder itself. Using Photoshop is somewhat cumbersome and iPhoto's keyword feature is a joke.

Dan,

Apple did a great job of listening to it's customers needs and implementing them well in Remote Desktop 3.
If the improvements to Remote Desktop are any indication of whats happening with OSX Server 10.5, I'll be a very happy camper/administrator.

I think Apple needs to make better use of the details column in column view.
this would be a great spot to put the tagging interface and a whole lot more.

I'm interested in what they are doing with OSX 10.5 server, of which I haven't heard many rumors or talk about at all.
