Apple adds Nike+ section to iPod Support site

Apple must have heard our jab at their one-line Nike+ Sport Kit support document yesterday and decided to whip up a full-blown Nike+ support section of their much-loved iPod Support site. Delusions of grandeur aside, the support section offers the typical troubleshooting and 'How do I...' sections, along with a video tutorial detailing how to run how to get on your feet with using this slick new kit to enhance your run. It also includes a link to Apple's new Nike + iPod Sport Kit discussions sub-category which lives under their iPod nano forum. While these should be handy new resources for all sorts of internet-related arguments over Nike and why 5G iPods didn't make the cut, just remember to still get out on your feet with your shiny new running kit, as we're pretty sure Apple Stores won't accept "I just never got around to it" as a return excuse.

I just bought one and used it on a 5 mile run, and my initial feelings are it's awesome, I have asics and dont like nike shoes, so i just slip the sensor in the laces, seems to work well and not fall out. The distance was a little off, but can be calibrated easily if need be.

JD Griffin,

sure you're right, but people like me who already shell out 300 or more bucks for an iPod, could be a little p****d off having to spend another 149 just to have the right flash player that doesn't skip a beat in order to run with Nike+ gizmos.

I really wish people would stop whining about how they can't use their 5G iPod with the Nike+ system. It's ridiculous to think that you can run everyday with an iPod that has a moving hard drive without it messing something up. Buy the 1 GB Nano...think about it at least. That's why they were introduced. So you can have your workout iPod and then your big-daddy-hold-all-my-songs-and-videos iPod to take everywhere else. If I'm way off base correct me, please. No one take this message the wrong way. But you know I'm right. If you can out run 240 songs then you never needed added encouragement anyways. Be real-

If you're a couch potato (like me) and want to actually figure out how to start running but don't know how, check out this page (http://www.coolrunning.com/engine/2/2_3/181.shtml). It's designed to go from zero to 3 miles/5 km within 2 months.

This wasn't just added to the iPod support site, it was there a couple of day's ago. Now I am not sure about the discussion forums.
