Montage 1.0 released

Today marks the release of the final version of Montage, which we wrote about when it was but a mere beta. Montage is a professional quality screen writing program which includes a number of things you won't find in traditional text editors. Amongst these features are smart views, Final Draft importing, included industry contacts that you can spam 'contact' with your script, and a full screen mode.

A 30 day demo is available and if you like it be prepared to shell out $139.95 for the full version.

I'd been using it since around Beta5, and I gotta say it's pretty good. My only gripe is that they don't offer the old $99 pricing to people who were beta testers. I didn't want to actually spend money on it until it became 1.0, but figured that the pricing would remain for beta testers once it was out of beta.

But either way, it's a good price for what it offers.

Great, now that I built my whole film around Celtx you bring out this nice looking app. Well, at least Celtx is free.

I had a bit of a play with Montage recently (the pre-release), and was a bit disappointed with its Final Draft importing. It was okay with standard scripts, but importing anything with custom elements confused it a bit.

I'll be interested to see how the new one is.

The hours approaching, just give it your best
You got to reach your prime.
That’s when you need to put yourself to the test,
And show us a passage of time,
Were going to need a montage (montage)
Oh it takes a montage (montage)
