Fraser Speirs: "who wants me to make an ApertureExport?"
Fraser Speirs, creator of the highly useful FlickrExport and other apps, is asking for feedback on his blog as to whether users would be interested in a similar ApertureExport app. He warns that ApertureExport wouldn't be quite as well tied into Aperture as FlickrExport is to iPhoto, and this is due to the current version of Aperture (apparently) lacking a plugin API.Still, if the idea of being able to point at a feature in your own copy of ApertureExport some day and telling your friends "that was my idea!" sounds appealing, head over to Mr. Speirs' post and toss in your $0.02.

Why does TUAW have a flash moving with a LOUD, ANNOYING buzzing bug on it? Is that going to be the new standard that sites have ads that make noise? If so I'll have to figure out if there's a way to disable Flash sound by default, so I don't have to mute my computer and can still listen to iTunes.

Those ads come from the networks we use. We police them, but don't specifically chose those obnoxious ads to display on our site. Trust me - we hate those as much as you do. ;)
Thanks for letting us know about it. We alert the proper higher-ups who need to know about these ads in order to try to cut down on them.

Try Rogue Amoeba's (free) Detour app - http://www.rogueamoeba.com/detour/legacy/ - to route the sound from different Apps (in this case, you'd need to mute Safari.)

jason: you could always install Adblock in Firefox. Makes it simple to block Flash ads.

Some people don't use firefox. It's slow and clunky on OS X and seems to crash at random times.

Thanks for the tip about Detour, I'm glad to hear this isn't something "new and exciting" that TUAW is doing. I don't use Firefox since (as Saxon pointed out) it's slow and clunky on OSX, and crashes at random times... :)
