Apple releases Boot Camp 1.1 beta
Apple has updated Boot Camp to version 1.1 with a number of new enhancements and compatibility fixes, including:- Support for the latest Intel-based Macintosh computers (I'm assuming this means the Mac Pros)
- Easier partitioning using presets for popular sizes
- Ability to install Windows XP on any internal disk
- iSight camera support
- Support for built-in microphones
- Right-click when pressing the right-hand Apple key on Apple keyboards
- Improved Apple keyboard support including Delete, PrintScreen, NumLock, and ScrollLock keys
This might be a long shot, but I wonder if this update might make running Vista - either in its current version or the upcoming RC1 - easier. Anyone have any ideas?
Thanks Blair!

19 - I did all that. When I go to choose isight.inf in the update driver dialog it says that it doesn't contian any info about my device. I think this is internal isight only :(

Does anybody know whether the 16-bit colour dithering has been corrected in this update?

This new Boot Camp also seems to have a menu that lets you save the Macintosh Drivers to a Folder on your disk. More information about that is here:

Kind of silly question: How come the CD Boot Camp is burning for you contains "Macintosh Drivers for Windows" rather than "Apple Drivers for Windows"? It doesn't make sense, I would say...

When I updated with the new drivers disk I had all kinds of trouble. Blue screen, then safe mode boots, then none of the apple divices worked!!! I had to install the 1.02 driver disk, then try agian. Now everything is peachy... Save for the isight. I still can't get the isight drivers to install. Windows XP you dirty whore.

@5
If you want to triple boot I highly recommend onmac.net for some tutorials and the rEFIt bootloader. It scans all partitions and will present you a nice selection screen with all operating systems it finds. Just install it once and theres no configuration needed afterwards. If you plug in an external hd with an OS on it, rEFIt will recognize it and make it available as an option.
Way better than the minimalistic Apple loader.

Installed (upgraded) fine on my MacBook Pro.
The iSight now works which is nice, but it is still quite noisy compared to when running OS X.

@ Fred:
Macintosh is the operating system, while Apple is the manufacturer of the hardware. The drivers are for the Windows OS, running on Apple hardware, not running under Macintosh.
I don't think a MacBook Pro running XP is a Mac.

@Sjakelien
You are incorrect.
Apple make hardware and software and an operating system.
Apple hardware is called Macintosh or Mac for short.
The operating system is called OS X.
A MacBook Pro can run OS X and Windows XP and is always a Mac.

To be crystal clear here --even though it's been stated by others-- the drivers are so Windows XP can [better] utilize the Mac hardware.

Firewire iSight is a no no... Just checked and the drivers included (downloaded the Macbook Pro version) are just for the internal iSight (USB).. Unless....
Somone tries the mac mini version of boot camp 1.1 beta.. IF that version includes iSight support (drivers) it would neccesarily include drivers for the Firewire iSight..
There is no specific version of Boot Camp 1.1 for the Mac Pro at this time

This install hosed windows xp for me last night. Blue Screens, reboots, etc... I finally got up and running after several hours of troubleshooting but now my wireless doesn't work. Anyone have any ideas on what might've happened? Did those drivers just not get installed? During the driver installation process it was asking me constantly if I wanted to overwrite stuff and I just kept saying yes.

It's nice to have the brightness and volume keys functioning finally, though having to repress for each increment is a bit annoying, it's still fine. I'm not sure if it's now possible on the MBP, but I can't seem to find anything mentioning a print screen key assignment, which is pretty much the only thing left that I miss (well, that and touchpad scrolling, which makes me wonder if maybe some synaptics drivers could be modified to work, as scrolling and various click functions have been built into those for some time.)

Actually you can get the drivers without burning from the Boot Camp Assistant...
Utility -> Save Macintosh Drivers to Folder from the Boot Camp Assistant
