Newton "Video Guides" available as downloads
Oh, how I love the Newton community. When the various message pads shipped, they came with instructive VHS tapes (yes, VHS) that described just how they should be used. Some enterprising Newton user has taken the time to encode several of the tapes (specifically the Original Message Pad, the MessagePad 110 and Newton OS 2.0) to H.264, and made them available as a video podcast [iTunes link]. Nice! Also included is a video on using the Newton OS on 3rd party hardware.

The Newton Video Guides are now available from two new sources:
- As torrents from http://notwen.com/m4v/ (right-click on a picture to get its torrent)
- Google Videos from http://tinyurl.com/mmr84
Google will also give you the code to let you put the video on your website.
Kind regards,
Adriano
Hi,
thanks for sharing the Newton videos. In terms of bandwidth - couldn't you just upload them to YouTube, for example? :-)
Cheers,
Steffen
Hello, i am the one who posted the Newton Movies video guides on iTunes.
As a lot of people already downloaded the movies, the website has been blocked cause the bandwidth limit has been exceeded. I am very sorry for the inconvenient.
The Newton Movies will be available again on iTunes during next few hours,
but until that time you can download the Newton Movies as torrents.
The torrent links are available on the mirrored website at
http://notwen.com/m4v/
Thanks goes to www.newtonmuseum.com as source of the original movies.
Kind regards.
As much as I like the Newton (and I still have three of them), the problems in actually getting this podcast to work are somewhat typical of the Newton community...
Not that I'm saying they're a bunch of losers or anything!
my message om the url from above was:
HTTP Status 403 - Exceeded account bandwidth limit
type Status report
message Exceeded account bandwidth limit
description Access to the specified resource (Exceeded account bandwidth limit) has been forbidden.
Apache Tomcat/4.1.30
so not via Safari.
tomoorow again?
and what if i do not have an US-account here in the netherlands?

I get the following error message when I try to get the movies via iTunes:
"There was a problem downloading 'Newton Movies'".
"Authorization is needed to access "http://rss.mac.com/adriano.angelillis/iWeb/notwen/m4v/rss.xml".
I'll give it another try tonight.
What's the password? ;) It looks like this feed requires authentication, so iTunes is unable to fetch the videos.
